A warm and friendly welcome awaits you here at Hazeldean, here you will find a cosy, family-run guest house that you will want to return to time and time again.

Hazeldean makes an ideal base to visit the Northern Lake District and the West coast, with Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish Borders only a short distance to the north of the city, we are also only approximately 10 miles from Gretna Green and The Old Blacksmith’s Shop. You can find us just four miles west of Carlisle, on the A595, a regular bus route which gives easy access to Carlisle City Centre. The bus service also runs regularly to Wigton, Maryport, Cockermouth and Keswick.

Here at Hazeldean you will enjoy a home cooked or continental breakfast in our sunny dining room, you can also relax with a magazine or watch T.V. in our comfortable lounge. We are surrounded by a large garden where you can also relax and enjoy the wildlife, (you will find picnic tables which are there for your convenience). Although we are not licensed we are happy to provide glasses for your beer, wine or refreshments.

We have comfortable, double en-suite rooms and one twin room, we also have a single room if you prefer. All rooms have television with tea and coffee making facilities and are very clean and comfortable with central heating and double glazing to keep you warm in the winter.

We are pleased to welcome walkers and cyclists. We are conveniently situated on the popular Border Reiver walkers path and close to the Cumbria Way cyclists route. We have a secure lock up for bicycles and we can provide a drying area with ironing facilities if required. The Cumbrian Tourist Board has given us a three star rating for the quality of our warm, friendly atmosphere and comfortable accommodation.

We have a small Conference/Training room which can be hired with lunches or tea/coffee provided if required. The room is suitable for various meetings, workshops or small conferences.

Children are always welcome at Hazeldean and we also allow well behaved pets. Special diets are catered for with evening meals and packed lunches available by request.
